Cordoba Film Office: Leading the way
The relationship between Cordoba and the audiovisual world is not at all new. "Carceleras", by José Buchs, was filmed here back in 1922, although the projection of images of the Paseo de la Victoria recorded by a Parisian producer dates from 1906. Since the first filmings of traditional Andalusia to today, we have seen different facets of Cordoba, from the gypsy "Carmen" by Aranda to the medieval "Kingdom of Heaven" by the famous Ridley Scott. And it has not just been films, as advertising and above all documentaries have found Cordoba to be an ideal spot, full of light, history and facilities. The Cordoba Film Office has been in charge of the management, contacts and organisation since 2001 and it is a point of reference and a bridge between production companies from different countries and local logistics companies. By helping with the paperwork and collaborating in the search for locations, Cordoba has become a natural set perfect for filming.
